Bill Morrison

Councilman Bill Morrison was elected to the Memphis City Council in November 2007 and re-elected to the Memphis City Council in October 2011. He is an honor graduate of the University of Memphis where he earned a bachelor's degree in Integrative Studies, and he obtained a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Arkansas State University. Having served the Shelby County School System as a teacher for several years, Councilman Morrison serves as a Federal Programs Advisor and, formerly, as a TCAP coach.

Councilman Morrison believes in community involvement and leads by example with his active participation in the Raleigh Community Council, Rangeline Community Development Corporation, Frayser Exchange Club, and Lifeline to Success. A dedicated public servant, one can find Council Morrison throughout the district listening to the concerns of many constituents and working toward streamlining cost savings. A testament to his hard work and commitment to the community is his receiving the Distinguished Service Award for 2010 from the Frayser Exchange Club. He is honored to have served as Vice Chairman of the Memphis City Council in 2011 and serving as Chairman of the Memphis City Council in 2012. He currently serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee . He has served as the past Budget chair for 2 years, and as a past liaison of Memphis Fast Forward and currently serves as the City Council liaison to the Riverfront Development Corporation and to the Memphis Zoo, and he looks forward to working to ensure the Memphis Zoo remains a premier tourist attraction in our great city.

Councilman Morrison is the proud parent of a 16-year-old daughter.
