Bill Morrison


Councilman Bill Morrison was elected to the Memphis City Council in November 2007. He is an honor graduate of the University of Memphis where he earned a bachelor's degree in Integrative Studies. He is currently working on a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. Having served the Shelby County School System as an eighth grade teacher for several years, Mr. Morrison now teaches as a TCAP coach.

Mr. Morrison believes in community involvement and leads by example with his active participation in the Raleigh Community Council, Rangeline CDC, Frayser Exchange Club and Lifeline to Success. A dedicated public servant, one can find Council Morrison throughout the district listening to the concerns of many constituents. A testament to his hard work and commitment to the community is his receiving the Distinguished Service Award for 2010 from the Frayser Exchange Club. He is honored to have been elected Vice Chairman of the Memphis City Council for 2011 in addition to serving as Chair of both the Audit and Public Services & Neighborhoods Committees. He also serves as the City Council liaison to the Memphis Zoo and looks forward to working to ensure it remains a premier tourist attraction in our great city.

Councilman Morrison is the proud parent of a 13-year-old daughter.
