Women Offering Women Support (WOWS)


The Young Administration is committed to aid those justice involved and re-turning citizens in their plight for stability. It is in this effort; the Office of Community Affairs hosts its Manhood University and Women Offering Women Support (WOWS) classes. Manhood University and WOWS serve as the City of Memphis re-entry program. The expectation of both Manhood University & WOWS is to encourage, empower and employ the men and women in Memphis to reach their highest potential.

This is a six-session program, and the course topics are:

  • Intro to Manhood/WOWS
  • Police & Community Relations
  • Applications/Resume Completion
  • Effective Communication
  • Preparing for Interviews/Dress for Success/Mock Interviews
  • Learning the Rules of the Game/Credit-Financial Literacy

WHEN:All classes for the accelerated sessions are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for a period of two weeks.

Class times are 10am – noon and 5 – 7 p.m.

 

Location:All classes will be held at 555 Beale Street.

 

Please note: Covid19 safety precautions will govern our class sizes.

We follow CDC, City of Memphis & Shelby County Health Department Covid Regulations.
