The Memphis City Council and Shelby County Commission will host a public meeting to discuss government efficiency on Thursday December 9, 2021 at 4:00pm at the River Front Room at the Renasant Convention Center. The joint meeting will be open to the public.

The first meeting (“The State of Memphis and Shelby County”) will include a panel of presenters who will give a data-focused report on their area of interest in Memphis and Shelby County. The panelists for the first meeting will include:

Affordable Housing – Roshun Austin, President and CEO of The Works

Poverty – Dr. Elena Delavega, Professor of Social Work, University of Memphis

Education – Cardell Orrin, Executive Director, Stand for Children

Economy – Altonio Smith, Data Director, Innovate Memphis

Workforce – Ted Townsend, Chief Economic Development Officer, Greater Memphis Chamber
