City celebrates new multiplex compound

The City celebrated its new multiplex compound with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning. 

Multiplex compound ribbon cuttingThe 32 acre compound, located at the former Walter Simmons housing project on Knight Arnold Road, will house multiple City maintenance and support service centers, such as Fleet Maintenance, Traffic Engineering, and Park Operations.

“Consider this a thanks to everyone in the City for what you do,” Chief Operating Officer Doug McGowen said. “This complex is something you deserve.”

The project was designed by Self-Tucker Architects with JPA, Inc. as the construction manager.
