Convention Center project prebid meeting
City to host prebid meeting for Convention Center renovation project
Posted on 10/03/2018
On Friday, October 5, the City of Memphis Office of Business Diversity and Compliance, in partnership with the Memphis Convention Center and MFA, a local venture, will host a prebid meeting and diversity workshop for the Memphis Convention Center renovation project. This session will be held at 9 a.m. in the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, 255 North Main Street.

The workshop will begin with a prebid meeting to identify changes that have taken place within the project. The diversity workshop will follow, designed to assist contractors in enrolling in the WBE/MBE and SBE certification program with the City. This will be the sixth and final diversity workshop.

Drawings for the convention center project were released for bidding on September 18. They are available for review on www.mccrenovation.com. The Memphis Convention Center is being re-imagined as the facility undergoes an important upgrade with enhancements of the building’s interior and exterior, adding square footage and modern amenities. The project will be paid for by visitors through the hotel/motel tax and Tourism Development Zone (TDZ) funds, at no cost to local tax payers.
