New grant for community-based projects
City and County announce new grant for community-based projects
Posted on 01/22/2019
The City of Memphis and Shelby County have announced the New Century of Soul Challenge grant. The goal of the matching grant is to provide financial support for community-based projects that foster civic pride and improve neighborhood vitality.

The partnership with ioby, which stands for “in our backyards,” is designed for Memphians and Shelby Countians to lead, develop, fund and bring ideas for projects and make positive change in their own neighborhoods.

Working with ioby, Memphians raised nearly $750,000 in small donations for more than 250 projects in the Memphis area. Now Memphis and Shelby County can build on this track record of local leadership - and make an even greater impact - with the matching funds available through this grant.
