Urban Fellow Spotlight

Meet Zoey Matthews, a Memphis native and a  junior at Butler University, where she is pursuing a double major in Dance Pedagogy and Strategic Communication. As a Summer 2024 Urban Fellow intern with the Communications Department, Zoey bought her passion for creativity, storytelling, and the performing arts to the team.

Zoey’s long-term aspirations include dancing professionally and later contributing to the arts community through communication work at an arts non-profit. She also hopes to give back to her hometown by teaching classical ballet to children in Memphis while continuing to pursue her passion for communications.

Zoey is excited to blend her love for the arts and strategic messaging to make a meaningful impact both locally and beyond!
