In response to Mayor Jim Strickland’s charge to be the most transparent and communicative administration in Memphis history, the Office of Communications was formed in January 2016 to serve as a one-stop communications shop for all City of Memphis divisions. The Office of Communications serves as a conduit for media coverage of the City and spearheads digital and social media communications.
Have Questions?
If you’re a member of the media with a request for information or an interview, e-mail Chief Communications Officer Allison Fouche, and/or Media Affairs Manager Arlenia Cole.
Want to interview a member of the City Council? Reach out to the council office directly at (901)636-6786.
Certain City divisions, though, have their own public information officers. Here are ways to contact them:
- Memphis Animal Services: Katie Pemberton, [email protected]
- Memphis Light, Gas and Water: Gale Jones Carson, [email protected]
- Police: Karen Rudolph and Louis Brownlee, [email protected]
Sometimes, a question is better posed to one of the City’s partner agencies or governments. Here is a list of some of those media contacts:
- Downtown Memphis Commission: Penelope Huston, [email protected]
- Memphis Area Transit Authority: Mia Harvey, [email protected]
- Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau: Kevin Kern, [email protected]
