24-Hour Emergency Warming Centers Close Due To Increase in Temperature:

Due to the increase in temperature, the City of Memphis’ Emergency Warming Centers have stopped 24-hour operations.

The Hospitality Hub operates the City of Memphis’ Emergency Warming Center during extreme cold weather, providing a place of safety and kindness for the unhoused to shelter from dangerous conditions. While it is no longer a 24-hour facility, it will still offer people space to stay warm overnight.

For the most updated details, please see the Hospitality Hub’s  Facebook and Instagram.

Opening Hours: Thursday 1/23/25 10:00pm to Friday 1/24/25 10:00 am

Location: To accommodate all guests, there will be TWO locations:
— Single women and families will stay at the Hospitality Hub (590 Washington Ave); and
— Single men and couples will stay at the First Baptist Church (200 East Parkway North)

Transportation: Transportation to both locations is operated by MATA, and starting at 9:30 PM, those requests can be made by calling a dedicated line at 901-297-1680.

The Warming Center is a temporary facility for those in need of a place for respite from the cold weather and is not meant to replace the services provided by a shelter. Single men seeking overnight shelter are encouraged to seek assistance from the Memphis Union Mission at 383 Poplar Ave, 901-526-8403 (IDs and COVID vaccination card/proof of negative test required; free before 11 am, $6/night 11 am-7 pm), or MIFA, 901-529-4545
