Help Me Find My People

March 15 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Genealogy is a continuous journey. It is a collection of stories woven across generations, a tapestry intertwined with experiences, history, and shared identity. The more you learn about your ancestors, the more you learn about yourself. This session provides an overview of how to conduct genealogical research, including helpful charts and forms, free internet research sites, and other helpful tips to continue your family history journey.
Facilitators
Felicia Harris is Project Manager for Memphis Heritage Trail, a City of Memphis Division of Housing and Community Development initiative that recognizes the contributions of African Americans to the city. Dr. Cynthia Sadler is an anthropologist and resident historian for Memphis Heritage Trail. Both are founding members of Sankofa Society, a group of like-minded genealogy enthusiasts who discuss, share, and preserve their family history.
