Mission: Amongst the various divisions here at the City of Memphis, it is safe to consider General Services as the city’s lifeblood. Comprised of over 300 skilled employees, this department is responsible for providing exemplary customer service, diversified forms of maintenance consistent with Facility Maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, and other support services to over 300 city-owned facilities and structures. General Services is comprised of the following departments that provide essential services and goods to all of our fellow divisions at the City of Memphis:

Property Maintenance

The Property Maintenance department plays a crucial role in supporting the Administration, various City Divisions, and other governmental organizations by delivering cost-effective and efficient services. This department is staffed by a team of trained professionals who bring expertise in several key disciplines, including Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, HVAC, and Painting.

Grounds Maintenance

The Grounds Maintenance team is a specialized Property Maintenance department responsible for maintaining various City of Memphis-owned properties. Their services include routine grass cutting, tree trimming, weed control, asphalt repair, and repaving.

Fleet Maintenance

It is the mission of the Fleet Management Operations to provide our customers, the employees of the City of Memphis, with safe and dependable vehicles and equipment

Operation City Hall

Operation of City Hall is a team comprised of an administration staff, building operators, mechanics, and maintenance distribution techs.
